„Everyone wants us to do this again“: A quick look back - and ahead

My Country Talks has been active in very different countries recently — from Argentina and Romania to France and Canada. And we’re not stopping there: a new edition of Deutschland spricht is already in preparation for August 2026.

Over the past months, My Country Talks has continued to grow in very different places. In Argentina, Mi País Conversa (August/September 2025) was organised by Fundación Bunge y Born together with Infobae.com. The project received a meaningful recognition:  Mi País Conversa 2025 was selected as a winner at the Premios Obrar, an Argentinian award for communication with social impact. You can watch the video submitted to the jury here.

In Romania, România vorbește (October/November 2025), organised by snoop.ro, started with a live-streamed YouTube conversation between a political comedian and a journalist - an inviting way to launch the format. Have a look at the beautiful recap of the Romanian edition!

In France, Fondation Groupe Bayard ran Faut qu’on parle for the second time (October/November 2025), this time together with several regional newspapers. On 22 November, thousands of people took part in conversations across the country - including in a range of shared public and community spaces (tiers-lieux) where participants could also meet in person. The campaign was promoted widely by additional partners, including the operator of French railway stations SNCF Gares & Connexions and many local newspaper kiosks.

And in Canada, Manitoba Talks (February/March 2026), organised by CBC Manitoba, has just come to a close. Participants came together to talk about questions such as “Will Artificial Intelligence (AI) make us dumber?” and “Should First Nations have the right to veto pipeline projects on their traditional lands?” - another reminder that the format can travel a long way and still stay close to the issues people care about. As our partners told us afterwards: “The feedback was incredible - everyone wants us to do this again.”

And so we will - at least in Germany. We are currently preparing a new edition of Deutschland spricht for August 2026. Many of the learnings from these recent editions will feed into that work. If you have ideas, questions, or are interested in implementing My Country Talks abroad - or for this summer’s edition in Germany - feel free to get in touch.
